Magic Kingdom Set to Demolish Three Locations
As Magic Kingdom pushes for its largest expansion project, three locations will be permanently removed. Find out how this will change your next trip to Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Expansion

There are many changes currently taking place throughout Walt Disney World. At the Magic Kingdom, a large expansion is taking place along the former Rivers of America and beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for Villains Land.
During this expansion, the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station is also blocked by construction walls. Thankfully, you can still enjoy a ride along the Walt Disney World Railroad, but with a "shuttle mode" change with our favorite alien, Stitch.
Now, even more changes will affect Frontierland due to this expansion.
Three Magic Kingdom Closures

Earlier, we shared an insider tip that three Frontierland locations would permanently close for the Piston Peak expansion. This includes Westward Ho, Big Al's, and the Churro Wagon Cart.
Today, Disney filed permits for all three locations. Disney's Buena Vista Construction Company is the contractor for this project to "provide labor, materials, and/or electrical construction".
These permits further confirm our suspicions that all three quick-service locations will permanently close. Disney has not shared a closing timeline for these locations, but changes are expected within the next three months.
Magic Kingdom Parade Changes

With the new path of construction walls, Disney has plans to form a new temporary pedestrian pathway along the promenade.
In the next three months, Disney will permanently close 3 Frontierland locations.
Disney promises this new pathway will help with pedestrian traffic flow and parade viewing. Continue to follow along as we share updates on this big Magic Kingdom expansion.
