Two Magic Kingdom Locations Will Permanently Close
In order to expand the new Cars-inspired area, two Magic Kingdom locations will close. This will also affect Magic Kingdom parades. You do not want to miss these new updates.
Magic Kingdom Expansion
There are many changes currently taking place throughout Walt Disney World. At the Magic Kingdom, a large expansion is taking place along the former Rivers of America and beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for Villains Land.
During this expansion, the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station is also blocked by construction walls. Thankfully, you can still enjoy a ride along the Walt Disney World Railroad, but with a "shuttle mode" change with our favorite alien, Stitch.
Now, even more changes will affect Frontierland due to this expansion.
Two Magic Kingdom Closures
Disney shares that in the next few months, both Westward Ho and Big Al's will permanently close. Westward Ho offers breakfast options, light lunch and dinner options, Joffrey's coffee, and frozen beverages.
Big Al's offers souvenirs and the ever-famous coonskin hats. With both of these locations set to close, Disney promises to relocate ice cream, churro, and popcorn carts to other areas in Frontierland.
These closures are caused by the current construction walls, which will soon move forward into Frontierland's riverwalk area.
Magic Kingdom Parade Changes
With the new path of construction walls, Disney has plans to form a new temporary pedestrian pathway along the promenade.
In the next few months, both Westward Ho and Big Al's will permanently close
