Magic Kingdom Hit With Four Surprising Changes

Magic Kingdom has several big projects taking place. See the four new changes that we spotted in the Park.

There are many projects taking place at the Magic Kingdom. In Tomorrowland, we noticed that all of the signage has been removed from Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

A construction wall is now surrounding the entrance to this attraction as this update is given.

This attraction is currently closed, but offers a new description: "Blast targets to score points and defeat Zurg in this interactive adventure." Previously, this was described as a "shooting gallery-inspired game."

Fantasyland Changes

In a recent update, several locations have been removed from the Magic Kingdom Park map. In Fantasyland, both Pete's Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs are now removed from the map.

Big Top Souvenirs remains open (for the time being), but both locations will close for a refurbishment. Due to this closure, check out full details for meeting Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald HERE.

Today, a new scrim was added to Pete's Silly Sideshow for this refurbishment. It is nice when Disney tries to blend the scrim to the building such as with this new change.

Magic Kingdom Biggest Expansion

The largest expansion is taking place along the former Rivers of America and beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for Villains Land. The third big change at Magic Kingdom is best seen overhead.

Thanks to @bioreconstruct, you can see the full extent of this expansion for Piston Peak:

Due to these new changes, more scrim is now added to the queue for Haunted Mansion. Walls were previously been erected behind Madame Leota's tomb which blocked many of the other tombstones. Due to the Piston Peak progress, more scrim is added to these walls.

As we anticipate the opening of a new land, these construction walls hinder some of the magic and immersion of our favorite Magic Kingdom attractions. You can see the new permanent closures due to this construction HERE.
