Florida weather can put a few wrinkles in even the best-laid travel plans. With a park located in Central Florida, Walt Disney World tries to update guests on weather advisories as quickly as possible.

What many do not often consider is cold weather warnings and winter weather advisories.

Earlier, we shared that a frozen weather watch has now escalated to a weather warning for all guests visiting Walt Disney World. Find out full details for this warning HERE.

Winter Weather Warning

Disney reserves the right to change operating hours without notice. This week is a cold one at Walt Disney World.

Typhoon Lagoon was closed this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (January 12-14, 2026). This closure was extended and Typhoon Lagoon was closed today and will be closed tomorrow, January 16, 2026.

At this time, Typhoon Lagoon is set to reopen on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Unfortunately, this reopening will be brief. Typhoon Lagoon will close Sunday, January 18, 2026, and remain closed Monday (19th) and Tuesday (20th).

Typhoon Lagoon will reopen only for Saturday 17, 2026 before it closes for the next several days.

Typhoon Lagoon will now plan to reopen next Wednesday, January 21, 2026. We hope that Typhoon Lagoon will remain open a bit longer after this. This will affect guests' ability to ride Humunga Kowabunga before it closes.

As a reminder, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is set to close on February 15, 2026, and then Disney's Blizzard Beach water park will open for guests. Starting on May 26, 2026, both water parks will be open.
