Disney World Makes Great Change for Dining Availability

This may be the best change for enjoying the most popular Walt Disney World dining locations! Check out how you can use this new feature during your next trip.

This summer, a new update for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland allowed guests to use a similar calendar as used to make Theme Park reservations to allow guests to check dining availability over multiple days.

This was a great change, but soon this flopped when a huge technical glitch resulted once Beak and Barrel dining reservations were available.

As Disney prepared to open Advanced Dining Reservations again, they made a BIG change. When guests attempt to make an Advanced Dining Reservation on the app, they are redirected to the Walt Disney World website. Thankfully, this later changed.

Still, some popular dining locations do not offer Advanced Dining Reservations at all. To our delight, Disney has added a "Walk-up Wait List" feature for several locations.

Groups with 7 people or fewer can join the wait list from the mobile app. You click on Reserve Dining in the My Disney Experience app.

Then, you select the party size and the current date. You cannot join a walk-up wait list for a future date. Now, you see the option to select "Now," and it shows eligible restaurants. Under each restaurant, it will list any times available.

Due to overwhelming popularity, Disney has made a new change to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto operations. Yesterday, we shared that additional operating hours are now available for this location.

Now, guests can join a "Walk-up List" for Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. This is a great option for guests hoping to enjoy this uniquely themed lounge without physically waiting in line. Please note that to join the wait list, you must be nearby.
