Major Change for Booking Disney World Dining Reservations
Due to recent technical difficulties, Walt Disney World just made a BIG change for booking Advanced Dining Reservations. Do you think this will help eliminate technical glitches?
My Disney Experience App

It is hard to visit Walt Disney World without using Disney's app. After all, it has everything you need to enjoy a magical vacation!
You can make dining reservations, place mobile orders, skip the merchandise line with mobile checkout, and even book your next attraction Lightning Lane time.
Like all apps, it receives regular updates to improve the overall guest experience. Earlier this summer, Disney created a new update that would help streamline booking dining reservations. Now an even bigger change affects booking Advanced Dining Reservations on the My Disney Experience app.
Advanced Dining Reservation Change

Last week, Walt Disney World hoped to open Advanced Dining Reservations for the brand new Beak and Barrel Lounge, but this was met with a major technical glitch, which made all dining reservations unavailable to guests.
Possibly as a response to this technical blunder, Walt Disney World has now changed how guests book Advanced Dining Reservations on the My Disney Experience app.
Now, when guests attempt to make an Advanced Dining Reservation on the app, they are redirected to the Walt Disney World website. This is similar to when guests make Theme Park Reservations on the My Disney Experience app.
Disney Dining Reservation Setback

In a way, this seems like a step back from the streamlined process that created on the My Disney Experience app this summer.
My Disney Experience app now redirects guests to website when booking dining reservations
We have our fingers crossed that, even though not ideal, this may help prevent future technical glitches that can affect Advanced Dining Reservations for all guests.
