Disney Pin Trading is a subculture all its own. Collectors enjoy purchasing and trading Disney pins with Cast Members and with other guests!

On Tuesdays, collectors can often be found racing to grab special limited edition pins both select retail locations around Disney Parks and online at Disneystore.com as part of a phenomenon called Pin Tuesday. However, it isn't always easy to get them!

Lately, there is not always enough supply for the overwhelming demand. And, last Tuesday, the demand was so great that it even crashed the Disneystore.com website! Disney adjusted the dates for online pin drops in response to the crash.

That is not the only change! Disney also made a change to the quantity of pins customers are allowed to purchase!

Today, during Pin Drop Tuesday on Disneystore.com, customers noticed that Disney had imposed a purchase limit of one of each pin per person, even for Open Edition Pins and Mystery Boxes! Previously, shoppers could purchase 2 of each design.

Many speculate that this change is in response to complaints that resellers purchase many of the pins, leaving collectors to the mercy of the secondary market. Perhaps this limit will allow more people to have a chance to get the pins they are after for their personal collections (or as gifts for the collectors in their lives).

What about In-Person Pin Drops

So far, this change has not extended to pin drops in the parks. The purchasing limits for pin drop Tuesday are still two per person for Limited Edition and Limited Release pins.

Hopefully the change will allow more collectors to get the pins they want. However, it may prove to be frustrating for famlies where more than one member of the household os collecting the same st.
