Pin Tuesday Crashes Disney Store Website

The Disney Store website cannot handle pin collectors this morning. Here is what is happening in Disney Pin Land right now

Pin Tuesday is a phenomenon Disney created where new limited edition and limited release Disney pins drop online and in theme parks and other select retail locations on Tuesdays each month.

Disney may have anticipated there would be some demand for these pins. However, they might not have anticipated just how much demand there would be! Each week, there is a mad dash in both theme parks and online to get pins.

In fact, sometimes there is such chaos, that rules have had to be put into place. Disney Springs now follows a specific procedure.

Website Crash

This morning, several wildly popular pins were scheduled to drop on line. These include the Sleeping Beauty Castle Windows of Attractions pin as well as the final installment in the Hundred Acre Wood Series. There are also releases for Emperor's New Groove, Christmas Pins, and a special "by invitation only" pin, and MORE.

However, no one can actually buy them. The demand quickly caused things to go South. Disney's website crashed and has been displaying errors since 11 am.

This caused much frustration for collectors, especially those who had great spots in the virtual queue! When their turn came, the site crashed out. The app has crashed, too.

When Will Pins Be for Sale

No one knows when the site will be running again. Perhaps Disney misunderstood the assignment: collectors don't want anyone to be running at the parks, but they DO want the site to be running.
