Warning: Universal Orlando Announces Multiple Temporary Closures for Popular Attraction

One popular attraction at Universal Orlando is set to have multiple temporary closures. Find out if any of these upcoming closures will impact your vacation.

Refurbishments at Universal Orlando

No one likes to hear that an attraction will be closed for refurbishment during a trip to a theme park. It is especially hard when that attraction is one that is on the priority list.

Unfortunately, refurbishment is a fact of life at theme parks. After all, keeping up with ride maintenance helps keep everyone safe!

Universal has announced one popular attraction will have multiple upcoming temporary closures.

First Closure

The Hogwarts Express is set to be closed on December 3, 2025. There is no word on what work is planned to be completed during this closure, but thankfully this closure is scheduled to be very short. The attraction is scheduled to reopen on December 4, 2025.

This attraction is only accessible to guests who have park-to-park tickets, as the attraction brings you between Universal Studios and Universal Island of Adventure.

Longer Closure Scheduled

The Hogwarts Express is set for another refurbishment which will take place next year. This refurbishment will be a bit longer as it runs from February 9, 2026, through February 23, 2026.

The Hogwarts Express will be closed from February 9, 2026 through February 23, 2026.

Those who wish to park hop between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure during either closure of The Hogwarts Express will have to exit and walk across City Walk to enter the second park.
