Another Universal Orlando Attraction is Permanently Closing This Week
It seems that almost nothing in Universal Orlando is safe when it comes to removing experiences in the name of progress. Another opening-day attraction is on its way out.
Big Changes in Universal Orlando

Recently, Universal Orlando announced big changes for every single one of its theme parks, including an expansion for its brand new park, Epic Universe. Change is underway, and all 3 theme parks are under construction.
For example, a new Fast & Furious Rollercoaster is on the way, where Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit once stood. This means that Fast & Furious-Supercharged is on the way out.
And, over in Islands of Adventure, an entire area of the park is being demolished. We aren't sure what's coming, but we do know what's leaving.
Another Attraction Closes Forever

Lost Continent is being demolished, and its main attraction, Poseidon's Fury, has been closed for quite some time. Even so, fans hoped that we could hold onto Mythos and the hilarious and entertaining Mystic Fountain. Perhaps they would be incorporated into what is on the way!
Unfortunately, Universal has confirmed that we are losing both. Mythos will close in 2027. The Mystic Fountain also closes shockingly soon.
The Mystic Fountain is a fun, interactive encounter in Sindbad's Bazaar. It is home to a mischievous water spirit who speaks to (and splashes) those brave enough to match wits. When awakened, the fountain plays music and jokes around, interacting with all who approach! Or at least, it will for the next few days.
When Does Mystic Fountain Close

The Mystic Fountain's final shows are scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026. It will officially be closed on May 16, 2026. This doesn't give fans much time for one final interaction, sadly.
Mystic Fountain will officially be closed on May 16, 2026.
Meet-and-greets with King Julien & the Safari Stars and Tigress at Lost Continent will also be unavailable starting May 16, 2026. According to Universal, King Julien will be available as part of the DreamWorks Imagination Celebration in DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios. However, details about future meet-and-greet opportunities for Tigress and the Safari Stars have not yet been revealed.
If you are looking for an interactive experience similar to the Mystic Fountain, you can try interacting with the Knight Bus outside of Diagon Alley. However, unlike The Mystic Fountain, the visual experience at the Knight Bus can be disturbing for younger audiences.
Are you sad that The Mystic Fountain is closing forever? Or is it time for something new? Feel free to share your thoughts. And, share the story with your family and friends who are visiting Universal soon, so they don't go looking for something that no longer exists.
