The Kenny the Pirate writing team updates you with the latest news on Disney's theme parks. The park hours initially provided by Disney can help you prepare for your visit, but they often change as the dates get closer.

A few of the most popular perks include Early Theme Park Hours, various modes of free Disney transportation throughout Walt Disney World, and opportunities for Guests to interact with their favorite Disney pals at select Disney resorts.

Several Walt Disney World Resort Perks return in 2026, but there is a key change for the free Walt Disney World water park perk.

EPCOT Operational Changes

Walt Disney World starts each New Year with a bang with the runDisney Marathon Weekend. This brings large crowds and a makes several key changes for Walt Disney World Guests.

EPCOT will open at 10 AM on Saturday, January 10th, and Sunday, January 11th, 2026.

The delayed openings at EPCOT are due to the Half Marathon and Marathon of runDisney Marathon Weekend. If you are planning to visit EPCOT on these days, expect heavy traffic and crowds in and around EPCOT.

Magic Kingdom Operational Changes

Magic Kingdom will also adjust operating hours on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The Park will open at 9:00 am for all guests (Early Entry at 8:30 am).

Magic Kingdom closes at 4:30 pm on January 27, 2026.

The Magic Kingdom will, however, close at 4:30 pm for all guests. While Disney has not made an announcement, this is probably for a Cast Member event. These are typically hosted in late January.
