New Layoffs Will Affect the Disney Parks
After a large round of price increases, we are pretty shocked to hear that a large group of Disney Park Cast Members will be let go.
The "Disney Difference"
Without the great cast members, you could argue that Disney Parks would be just another amusement park. However, the cast members are what make the difference for guests, whether they are relaxing in their hotel lobby or getting into a roller coaster.
At most theme parks, the employees do not become part of the story or enhance the storytelling. At Disney Parks, they do!
Many Disney fans call this affectionately the "Disney Difference." Even with the large price increases for so many Disney Park experiences, many Disney fans are willing to pay more for the full magical Disney experience.
Cast Member Layoffs
Unfortunately, the Walt Disney Company shared today that Disneyland Resort will eliminate approximately 100 Cast Members. Thanks to Scott Gustin for sharing this announcement.
A Disneyland spokesperson shares, "With our business in a period of steady, sustained operation, we are recalibrating our organization to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, while positioning Disneyland for the future."
"As part of this, we've made the difficult decision to eliminate a limited number of salaried positions. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of these cast members and are committed to supporting them with care, respect, and resources during this transition."
Disney Layoffs Affect Theme Parks
Many still miss the "Disney Experience" that was greatly changed in 2020. The Walt Disney Company used the Theme Park closure to change many entertainment offerings. Massive layoffs affected many, and some of our favorite streetmoshere performers were removed from the parks.
100 Cast Members will be affected by layoffs at Disneyland.
This included the Citizens of Hollywood and the Citizens of Main Street. We are sad to hear that many Cast Members will be affected by these layoffs so close to the holidays. This also leads many of us to wonder how this may affect the overall Disneyland Park experience.
