Poor Unfortunate Malfunction for Ursula
Walt Disney World guests were shocked to see our favorite villain, Ursula, experience an epic size malfunction. You will not believe how many Cast Members have to come to help her.
Disney Ride Malfunctions
With all of the wonderful technology incorporated in Disney World attractions, you are sure to have a magical time. From music and special effects to MagicBand+ interactions, Disney is working hard to create an immersive experience.
On the flip side of that, however, ride malfunctions are bound to happen. A wide variety of situations can occur. An attraction may completely stop and be evacuated. Certain elements may be omitted from the ride experience, and on one occasion, an arm was ripped off an animatronic.
Soon after Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid reopened from a refurbishment this summer, Ariel experienced a creepy malfunction as guests floated by in their clamshells.
Entertainment Malfunctions
The unexpected can also happen during entertainment and character interactions. Disney does a great job providing excellent experiences for guests while also protecting the talented Cast Members.
If a Cast Member needs assistance, there is a special signal that they can communicate with attendants to receive help that is often unnoticeable to guests. Recently, Ursula's call for assistance was not so discreet.
Back in 2023, Ursula joined the Boo to You Parade. For the past couple of years, she effortlessly glided along the parade route with her scroll and seashell necklace, which safely stored Ariel's voice, glowing in the nighttime parade.
Ursula's Malfunction
This year, Ursula has had a few difficulties managing the parade route. The most recent malfunction occurred on Main Street. Several parade attendants were needed to assist Ursula. This affected the other characters and floats coming behind her.
Urusula became stuck on the Main Street tracks during the Boo to You Parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
