Breaking: Stardust Racers Reopening Date After Tragic Death
After several days, Universal announces the reopening date for Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. What do you think of these new safety measures that are now in place?
Stardust Racers Tragedy

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, an Epic Universe Visitor passed away after a ride on Stardust Racers, the park's biggest thrill ride. According to Universal, the guest rode Stardust Racers and was found unresponsive after the ride ended.
The guest was taken to the hospital for care and, unfortunately, passed away.
When the initial incident was reported, it was unclear what had contributed to the event, and the attraction was closed pending an investigation.
Stardust Racers Reopening

Today, Karen Irwin, President & Chief Operating Officer for Universal Orlando Resort, shares about the choice to reopen Stardust Racers. "Our extensive review was conducted working closely with local officials, and the state of Florida observed the testing and reviewed the results."
"In addition, the ride system manufacturer of record and an independent, third-party roller coaster engineering expert conducted their own on-site testing and validated our findings."
"This means we are prepared to reopen Stardust Races at Universal Epic Universe on Saturday afternoon, October 4."
New Safety Measures at Universal

Irwin reassures guests on heightened safety measures, "Safety, as always, is our top priority. To further assist guests in determining whether they can or cannot ride an attraction."
Stardust Racers reopens on Saturday afternoon on October 4, 2025.
"We are updating operating procedures and attraction signage to reinforce existing ride warnings and physical eligibility requirements at Starduster Racers and other rides."
