Tragedy Strikes Epic Universe After A Guest Rides A New Rollercoaster

It is with a heavy heart that we share another theme park tragedy. A visitor to Universal Orlando Resort's new Epic Universe theme park has passed away after losing consciousness on a roller coaster.

Tragedy has struck at Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort's new theme park. Our hearts are with the visitors and Team Members at the center of the tragedy.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, an Epic Universe Visitor passed away after a ride on Stardust Racers, the park's biggest thrill ride. According to Universal, the guest rode Stardust Racers and was found unresponsive after the ride ended.

The guest was taken to the hospital for care. Sadly, he passed away at the hospital.

Universal's Official Statement

Universal is cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff's Office following the tragic event involving a guest at Epic Universe on Wednesday night. The guest became unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers and was transported to the hospital, where the guest later died.

We are devastated by this event and extend our sincerest sympathies to the guest's loved ones. We are fully committed to cooperating with this ongoing investigation. The attraction remains closed.
