Disney Shares New Details for Villains Land
If you are looking forward to the Villains-themed land that is coming to Walt Disney World, you are not alone. And, now Disney is sharing some of the inspiration behind the land's development!
Villains Land in the Magic Kingdom

One of the most exciting D23 announcements of D23 2022 was the Blue Sky concept for a Villains Land in the Magic Kingdom. Disney has since confirmed Villains Land is officially coming to the Magic Kingdom. The land is set to include 2 attractions, a restaurant, shopping, and more!
At this year's D23, Disney gave audiences a peek behind the curtain at the development of Villains Land. This included some of the details you can expect to see incorporated into the new land.
Inspiration Behind the Architecture

Disney Imagineering has been at work researching and finding just the right details to incorporate into the land's architecture. The research team set off to Paris, France, and Barcelona, Spain, for inspiration that reflects the original films, providing the source materials for the land.
The team was particularly interested in the Art Nouveau architectural design of the late 1800s and the unique form, scale, and color that define this style. The aesthetics that will serve as the overall design inspiration for the land.
The land will be full of details inspired by the natural motifs and swirling designs of Art Nouveau around Paris that give a "cursed" vibe. It will also incorporate Modernisme from Barcelona with its otherworldly, unnerving appearance. Stained glass windows and painted metals in the same dark jewel tones used to animate the villains will inspire the color palette.

The team is referring to the results as "Conjured Architecture." It is neat to see the architectural inspiration combined with respective villains in the picture collage.
Interview with a Villains Mastermind
Disney Animation also recently brought in Disney Animation animator Andreas Deja, a true mastermind when it comes to the world of Disney Villains. Who better to consult than the man who brought villains like Jafar, Gaston, and Scar to life?
Disney is conslulting animator Andreas Deja as the land is drawn to life.
You can see the interview with him here! It is an exciting behind-the-scenes glimpse at what is to come. With all the attention to detail, we have high hopes that Disney will get this one right!
