Disney Announces a New Cars Show with Lightning McQueen
If you have Cars fans in your home, get ready! Disney is starting the engines on a new Cars show!

The Disney and Pixar award-winning Cars franchise is a popular one. The 2006 film now has 2 sequels and a spin-off, and children own countless books, toys, and articles of clothing featuring characters like Mater and Lightning McQueen.
Plus, the franchise inspired its own land in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. And, the reimagining of Frontierland in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World will result in Piston Point, a new area dedicated to Cars. In fact, the process of draining Rivers of America has already started.
It has been a big year in terms of Cars announcements. And now, something else is on the horizon for Cars!
A New Cars-Themed Show
Disney just announced a new Cars-themed show inspired by Disney and Pixar's Cars films. The announcements were made by Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, at the "Disney Jr. Let's Play!" fan celebration at Disney California Adventure Park.
The title of the show is Cars: Lightning Racers. The show is meant for Disney Jr.
According to Disney, "Cars: Lightning Racers follows Lightning McQueen as he gears up for all-new adventures in Radiator Springs alongside his hilarious best friend Mater and new friends thrill-seeking drag car Pipes and mud-loving monster truck Miles."
Returning Cast
Perhaps the most exciting part of Cars: Lightning Racers is the returning cast. Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy are reprising their iconic roles of Lightning McQueen and Mater for the new Disney Jr. Show.

But that's not all. You can also expect to see Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks, and John Ratzenberger as Mack.
The show does not air until 2027. Hopefully, Disney will be able to use that time to create something fans will appreciate.
