With the exciting announcement of the "Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" parade, Walt Disney World made a change to park reservations. Annual Passholders still need to make park reservations, unless it's a "Good to Go" day.

At the end of May, Disney made a change for Magic Kingdom Park Reservations starting on July 20, 2025. Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom park at any time of day (including after 2:00 PM) must have a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom.

Previously, Annual Passholders could enter any park after 2:00 pm without a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays.

Now, Annual Passholders receive a pop-up notification when they click on the Annual Passholder section on the My Disney Experience app (as featured above.) This is a BIG change for Passholders that goes into effect in just a few days.

This new change only applies to the Magic Kingdom. Annual Passholders will continue to be able to enter EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park after 2:00 PM without a theme park reservation.

Theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets. For other admission types, theme park reservations may be required. Theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability.

  1. They wonder why less people going because of annoying stuff like this . They slowly taking away the magic and dont seem to care

  2. Ugh, I hope this doesn't last too long. We visit a couple times a year and it feels like we are penalized for being AP holders....so frustrating.

    1. It really is frustrating that there is a cap on the magic with a limit for park reservations.
