Magic of Disney Animation Opening
This past May, Disney's Hollywood Studios reopened a new land, "The Magic of Disney Animation".
There will be so much to do and explore in this newly reimagined space. The best part is that this space is a nod to the original Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California. Finally, there is a connection to the "Old Hollywood" inspiration for this Park.
"Drawn to Wonderland", "Off the Page!", "Olaf Draws!" and "Once Upon a Studio Theater" are now officially open today, September 14, 2026.
Once Upon a Studio
While the entire new land sounds amazing, we are captivated by the Disney Once Upon a Studio Theater.
Disney describes this as, "Settle in for a short film in which Mickey Mouse reunites with beloved characters and celebrates over 100 years of Disney animation. Be on the lookout at Once Upon a Studio Theater-in a place like this, you can count on a little pixie dust to make a movie theater a little more magical."
Today, for the grand opening of this new land, 60 characters arrived in true Disney magic.
True Disney Magic
Those who have watched "Once Upon a Studio", now streaming on Disney+, will remember the final scene where several characters join together for a group photo with Goofy climbing a ladder to capture the magic.
60 Disney characters helped open "The Magic of Disney Animation" today.
As you should suspect, this did not go according to plan. For the grand opening today, a Disney Cast Member offered to take the photo for Goofy. This is what true Disney magic looks like for this new land celebrating "The Magic of Disney Animation."
