A refurbishment has just started at one Magic Kingdom Area Hotel. Find out if it will impact your Disney vacation.
Refurbishment

The word refurbishment can strike dread in the hearts of Disney World Guests and fans. No one likes to spend months planning a trip only to find your favorite attraction, resort, restaurant, shop, or even recreational activity is subject to refurbishment plans.
Refurbishments can occur at attractions, resorts, restaurants, shops, and even recreational activities.
Unfortunately, these are needed to keep the Disney Parks in their best possible shape to avoid malfunctions and breakdowns. Sometimes they last only a few days or weeks while others may extend for months and months.
Refurbishment at the Polynesian Resort

Starting yesterday, Monday, June 2nd, some refurbishment has begun at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The shop, BouTiki, has undergone maintenance work.
Maintenance work has begun at BouTiki in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The shop is still open during the construction.
Disney’s website states: “Starting June 2, 2025, BouTiki at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will undergo maintenance, during which half of the store will be closed, while the other half will remain open. Please be aware that maintenance may be seen and heard in the area until the work is complete at the end of June.”
What Does This Mean for You?

Fortunately, the shop will remain open during the maintenance work, so Guests will still be able to shop. This gift shop is located on the first floor of the Great Ceremonial Hall at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
Guests visiting the Polynesian lobby will potentially hear and see construction.
Construction will potentially be seen and heard by Guests during this maintenance period. The work is only expected to last until the end of June, so Guests won’t be impacted for too long.
