Breaking: Big Changes Affect Renting Points with Disney Vacation Club
Disney Vacation Club is making big changes to its terms and conditions. This may greatly affect third-party companies that offer points to rent.
Disney Vacation Club

Guests coined the term the "Disney Bubble" because once you arrive at Walt Disney World, you never have to leave the Disney magic. Some guests love the magic of Disney so much that they invest in the Disney Vacation Club (DVC).
DVC is a timeshare run by Disney that has the flexibility of a point system. You can book the time of year you travel and the type of accommodation, including your resort of choice.
Even if you are not a DVC member, you can still stay at DVC resorts! You can "rent" points from DVC members, which gives you the same flexibility of choosing your dates and resort.
Disney Vacation Points Changing

Starting tomorrow, June 2, 2025, Disney Vacation Club will now require a checkbox during the online booking process. This will require Disney Vacation Club Members to confirm that this reservation is "for personal use only."
If making reservations over the phone, Cast Members will now ask guests if this reservation will be for themselves, friends/family, or if they will be renting their points.
Renting points will now be classified as a potential "commercial activity." These new terms and conditions will help to limit the number of points rented, as many have used this as a business operation over the past several years.
Full Details

Disney Vacation Club updated their terms and conditions as follows: "You agree that any reservations made under your membership are solely for personal use and not for commercial purposes, as required by governing documents for each DVC Resort, including but not limited to the Declaration of Condominium and Membership Agreement."
Renting DVC points will now be classified as a potential "commercial activity."
"DVCM reserves the right to interpret personal use and determine if reservations are booked for personal or commercial purposes in its sole discretion."
"Personal use may include enjoying the benefits of a DVC Membership with family or allowing use of any reserved Vacation Home to friends and family on occasion. Additionally, personal use means that the member does not regularly or frequently rent/sell reservations booked using their membership."
What do you think of this new change? Have you rented DVC points in the past? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.

THANK YOU DISNEY! Renting points sucks up rooms and schedule that LEGITIMATE DVC members can use! Renting needs to be stopped! Good first step!
Why? If the rooms are filled who cares. Do they think the same number of people will book at their insane rates? They better change the years you can bank and borrow then cause you may not make it there enough at their price increases. They may be just be opening up a lawsuit.
I have rented from an agency in the past and truly enjoyed the experience. I don’t think this is fair to do to dvc “owners” do they own or are they borrowing from disney.
We have never rented our points before, but I don't like that this option is being taken away, if we ever have the need to rent our points one year.
