The individual Lightning Lane system allows guests to skip the line for a fee. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass is very similar to the previous Disney Genie+ with a few exceptions.

Lightning Lanes can be purchased as a Multi Pass or Individual Lightning Lane. There is also a Premier Pass where no ride reservations need to be made, but comes at a premium price.

At Disneyland, attractions have been temporarily added as a Multi Pass Lightning Lane offering during select times.

At Disneyland Park, Pirates of the Caribbean was temporarily added to the list of Multi Pass Lightning Lane selections. The attraction was added to the list last January, however, it is still on the list of Lighting Lane offerings.

Pirates of the Caribbean was temporarily added to the Multi Pass Lightning Lane selections last January.

Starting today and lasting through Monday, April 14th, Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland Park will only be offering a standby queue. The ride will begin offering Lightning Lane Multi Pass again on Tuesday, April 15th.

What Could This Mean?

As Pirates of the Caribbean was added as only a “temporary” Multi Pass Lighting Lane selection, Disney could be thinking of removing the offering at the attraction all together. This is most likely a testing period to see how the attraction does with just a standby queue.

This is only speculation and only time will tell if Disney will remove the attraction from the Multi Pass Lightning Lane offerings or let it remain on the list.
