Official Return of Disney's Airport Luggage Transfer Perk

This is the Disney resort perk that many guests have been waiting for! Earlier, we shared that this was simply a trial at one resort, but now Disney has expanded it, and official details are now available. You don't want to miss this!

Disney is taking action after coming under scrutiny for many Disney resort perks missing over the years. Resort Airline Check-In lets Guests check their bags with their airline for their Disney hotel, allowing guests to have a stress-free airport experience.

Unfortunately, this amazing offering disappeared during Walt Disney World's closure for COVID-19. Earlier this week, we shared that Pop Century was being used to try this new airline check-in for guests flying Southwest.

At the time of writing, it appeared that this service could expand to other resorts and even possibly other airlines. There was also no official word of this by Walt Disney World, but the information was shared by word of mouth and through Cast Members.

Airport Luggage Transfer Program

Starting today, April 3, the Airport Luggage Transfer Program now expands to all five Walt Disney World value resorts. This includes All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, Pop Century, and Art of Animation.

Currently, this one-way pilot program is only for guests using Southwest Airlines from Orlando International Airport.

Disney spokesperson stated, "We continue to work with Orlando International Airport on ways we can help manage the high demand for travel to Central Florida and improve the experience for our guests and other airport passengers. As part of these efforts, we are working with a vendor to pilot a new one-way service for guests at Disney Value Resorts to conveniently check their luggage prior to departure when flying out of the airport on Southwest Airlines. We look forward to sharing more information with guests soon."

How to Use Disney Airport Luggage Transfer

Disney has now added an official fact page for the airport luggage delivery service on their website. At the beginning of your stay, check in at your Disney Value Resort hotel and call or visit Luggage Assistance to take advantage of this service. For a smoother experience, leave your inbound Southwest Airlines tags on your bags.

The day before your departure, check in for your Southwest Airlines flight online. Drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the resort hotel lobby area within the required drop-off time. Please be aware that you will need to provide a valid form of photo identification to drop off your bags. You can also call Luggage Assistance from your in-room telephone to ask for help with your bags.

Head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your destination. Be aware that this service is subject to change or cancellation without notice or liability.
