Reopening Announced for this Magic Kingdom Dining Location

Magic Kingdom offers many great attractions but leaves many guests wanting more dining options. We now have great news as this quick-service dining location finally reopens at the Magic Kingdom.

While Magic Kingdom may be the most well-known theme park in the world, it is not exactly known for its dining. Many guests enjoy the princess character dining experience at Cinderella’s Royal Table and dining with the Beast at Be Our Guest, but this park still needs a bit more for unique dining.

Many guests may often overlook the quick-service dining option at Tortuga Tavern. This is located across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Adventureland.

Back in June 2024, this location appeared closed, with all kiosks completely covered. This was not great news for Magic Kingdom guests.

Now Reopening

This summer, Tortuga Tavern was transformed into Tortuga Treasures as refurbishment began at the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.

Once the refurbishment was complete, Tortuga Tavern returned empty once again. Now the Walt Disney World website shows operating hours for Tortuga Tavern starting on January 1, 2025.

At this time, operating hours are 11:00 am until 5:00 pm daily until February 28, 2025 (which is how far the current operating calendar is extended.

Important to Know

If you hope to enjoy Tortuga Tavern when it reopens, plan ahead. This location closes early and is not available after 5:00 pm. Before its closure, Tortuga Tavern did not offer mobile ordering.

Tortuga Tavern finally reopens on January 1, 2025, according to the Walt Disney World website.

Unless Disney makes a change, Guests will need to wait in line for this dining location. The posted menu includes a Barbecued Pork Sandwich; Orange Chicken Strips; an All-Beef Hot Dog; a Barbecued Slaw Dog; and a Peanut Butter, Chocolate-Hazelnut spread, and Banana Sandwich.

Updated to Add: Later in the day, on December 30, 2024, all operating hours were removed from the Walt Disney World website for Tortuga Tavern. We are hopeful that this location will be reopening soon, but it may not be on January 1, 2025.
