Warning for Guests Staying at Disney's Pop Century

Refurbishment sparks dread around the Disney Parks. From time to time our favorite attractions are closed for a minor or sometimes major refurbishment.
While Guests prepare for upcoming Disney vacations, much time is devoted to selecting the perfect Resort and dining locations for their trip. What Guests may not always consider are current refurbishments scheduled for their Disney Resort.
Although unwelcome, these refurbishments are needed. Typically, Disney provides advanced warnings for work so guests may choose a different resort, but now an ongoing refurbishment is extended even longer at Pop Century.
Extended Refurbishment
This summer, Walt Disney World sent emails to guests with upcoming stays at POP Century that the Everything POP Food Court will close for a refurbishment starting July 29th through late September.
It now appears that what seemed to be a minor refurbishment is taking a bit longer than expected. With us now at the end of September, guests with upcoming stays at POP Century discover that this refurbishment is still in the works.
The Everything POP Food Court will continue this refurbishment until November 30, 2024. If this reopens according to plan the refurbishment will have lasted for 4 months.
What you need to know
During this refurbishment, the Everything POP Food Court will remain open. Food and beverage orders must be placed using Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app.
Everything POP Food Court refurbishment is now extended until November 30, 2024.
Alternate entrances will be in place and Disney shares that additional seating will be available for guests. The beverage stations will remain available to guests.
Edited to add: On October 1, 2024 the POP Food Court reopened, but guests had to use alternate entrances. Disney still reminds guests that the refurbishment will continue with entrance changes and limited seating until November 30, 2024.

We arrived on Monday 9/30. Had we known about the extended closure, we would have chosen a different resort.

We stayed there for the first time last month. Everything was mobile order. Is this not the case normally?
Typically, guests can do both Mobile Order and order in person. Hope you had a great stay at POP Century and a great Disney vacation.
