There are Already New Hours For Meeting Figment After His Record Breaking Return

Figment may have just returned to EPCOT, but Disney is now making changes to accommodate the huge lines of guests.

Figment Returns

Previously guests could meet Figment, our favorite little spark. However, he has not greeted guests for many years. Then, last year, we announced HERE that Figment would be once again greeting guests.

This was a well-played move by Disney to bring back Figment. Although his attraction, Journey Into Imagination With Figment, rarely garners a wait, people are enamored with character Figment.

Just take a look at how popular the Figment popcorn buckets have been during EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts. People waited in line for hours! Figment surprised guests at Destination D23 this past Saturday night with a surprise meet and greet at the D23 special evening at EPCOT. The lines appeared to be 3-4 hours long during their preview!

First Day at EPCOT

Yesterday, September 10th, was the first official day for Figment at EPCOT. His first initial meet and greet hours were 10:00 a.m. to 1:30pm and 2:20-5:00 p.m.

Before he even arrived, a massive line had formed. Guests noticed that Figment would greet guests for 15 minutes and take a quick break. This caused the line to move extremely slowly. At the end of the day, many guests gleefully reported that they waited up to 5 HOURS to meet Figment and would do it again for this interaction.

This is a HUGE wait time, and we were curious how Disney may help accommodate this big fan base. Today, Figment now has new hours to greet guests.

Second Day at Epcot

Today, September 11th, guests can meet Figment from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. inside ImageWorks. This seems to be a smart move to have Figment greet guests at the park opening. This does give guests staying at Walt Disney World Resorts a jump start with early entry starting at 8:30 a.m.

New hours are now posted to meet Figment at ImageWorks at EPCOT after guests endured up to 5 hour waits opening day.

We are hopeful that guests may still join the line up until 3:30 p.m. and that the meeting time ending so early will allow all guests in line to have a chance to meet Figment. Here is to hoping! We will check back as the day progresses to see how these new hours affect wait times.
