Even Disney cannot prevent some unexpected changes to your travel plans. See how guests are now reimbursed.
Unexpected Factors
Many guests joke that Disney has a bubble to allow guests a magical vacation without concern for the elements, but unfortunately, that is not the case. Weather can greatly affect your travel plans to Disney Parks. From just a little rain to a full hurricane, we try to offer the best tips to make your trip to the Disney Parks a happy one.
At times, Disney will issue a refund to guests when their trip is severely impacted due to inclement weather. Other times, guests may be affected by technical difficulties with their favorite attractions. These seem to be much more common in the past several months.
Refund and Discount
Disney not only has great Theme Parks, but they offer water parks and a great experience aboard the fleet of Disney Cruise Line ships. Guests aboard the Disney Cruise Line can enjoy the magic of Disney characters and entertainment in a laid-back setting. See why my (Donna) children love a Disney Cruise Line vacation more than visiting the Disney Parks.
Recently, guests aboard Disney Fantasy experienced a technical issue with the ship’s propulsion system. Due to this issue, they had to alter the itinerary which did not allow for the favorite stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Due to this disappointing change, guests aboard this sailing will receive a $250 credit for each stateroom. The port fees for Castaway Cay will also be automatically refunded for guests.
Guests for this sailing can also enjoy a 25% discount on future sailings taken before September 2, 2025. Castaway Cay is really a highlight for a Disney Cruise, and this is no doubt a disappointment for guests aboard the Disney Fantasy.
Technical issues prevented guests aboard the Disney Fantasy from enjoying their day at Disney’s Castaway Cay.
What do you think of this technical issue? Do you think Disney should offer more compensation, or do you think this is adequate? Share your thoughts with us and share this with your Disney pals.
