Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. That’s half the year! Typically, the bulk of hurricanes hit during the months of August, September, and October. September is considered peak hurricane season in Florida.

So, we are smack dab in the middle of hurricane season. If you are traveling during this time, be sure to have a back pack plan if plans should change. It is also best to know your destinations cancellation policy along with any transportation cancellation policies you may be using.

Earlier today, we shared that guests aboard Disney Fantasy experienced a technical issue with the ship’s propulsion system. Due to this issue, they had to alter the itinerary which did not allow for the favorite stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

They did receive onboard credit and a discount off a future cruise. You can read all the details about the technical issue and Guest compensation HERE.

Disney Cruise Line has modified the itinerary for the September 9, 2023 Bermuda Sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy.

If you had any scheduled Bermuda port adventures booked through Disney, no need to worry! They will be automatically removed from your cruise itinerary. Guest will be able to book new port adventures for Cozumel, George Town, and Castaway Cay up to three days prior to sailing or once onboard.

This definitely can be a disappointing change when you were expecting to go to Bermuda, however a second surprise day at Castaway Cay isn’t a bad consolation prize along with staying clear of a major hurricane!
