There have been so many changes within the Walt Disney Company over the past few months. The biggest surprise came with the exit of former Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, back in November 2022.

As Bob Iger returned as Disney CEO, he announced huge job reductionsThis would come with a workforce reduction of 7,000 jobs. The first round of layoffs shocked many as Disney executives were among the first to be let go.

Recently, Disney announced the HUGE news that Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy will take a medical leave of absence. You can check out more details about her departure HERE. This caused a huge change for Walt Disney World Park executives with many changes announced earlier this week.

Latondra Newton has served as the Chief Diversity Officer for six years with the Walt Disney Company. Variety first broke this story with a memo shared by Sonia Coleman Disney’s HR chief.

The memo states, “Since joining the company in 2017, Latondra has led the company’s strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise to amplify stories of the world by people around the world.”

“She has been dedicated to ensuring every person sees themselves and their life experiences represented in a meaningful and authentic way.” Coleman goes on to say, “Latondra’s direct reports will report to Julie Merges on an interim basis until a new DEI leader is identified.”

They have forgotten who their customer is. They don't need to focus on diversity. All already are their customers. We are waking up. We are getting tired of small minority groups throwing their ideas and culture in our faces. Disney doesn't need a diversity VP. They just need to get back to providing an entertainment experience for all at a fair price. And realize nobody wants to spend all day for two rides.
