Refurbishments

Refurbishment is a dreaded word for Disney fans who will soon be visiting Disney Parks. In theory, we all understand that refurbishments are necessary to keep each Park magical.

However, it is sad when one of your favorite attractions or even resort pools is affected by an extended refurbishment. This is even more problematic in a park with fewer attractions such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Dinoland seems to be at risk of becoming extinct. The bigger attraction has closed in this land and only a handful of smaller attractions and carnival games remain. Earlier this summer another attraction closed in Dinoland USA for a brief refurbishment.

The true saving grace for this land was The Boneyard and the return of our favorite characters. The Boneyard is a great space for kids ages 10 and under to adventure through caves, cross rope bridges, and venture down twisting slides.

Complete with a dig site, this can be a great retreat for children, while parents can relax in shaded seating. Earlier we shared that The Boneyard would close on May 1st and would reopen in mid-June.

Thankfully, the Dig-Site remained open even throughout this refurbishment. We now have a reopening date for The Boneyard! The Walt Disney World website shares operating hours for The Boneyard starting on Wednesday, June 14th.

The Boneyard will reopen on Wednesday, June 14th.

This is great news for families hoping to enjoy Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer.

What do you think of this refurbishment? Does your family enjoy the play areas in the Disney Parks? Do you think that Dinoland is outdated? Share your thoughts and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.
