Sometimes, things happen that even Disney can’t always expect. One group of Disney Guests ran into some mechanical issues which brought some big changes to their planned Disney vacation.
Disney Wish
The Disney Wish is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship to set sail! However, Disney has another ship that is currently in the process of being built. You can read all about that HERE.
On the Disney Wish we shared how it has a cinematic dining adventures, a tower suite, entertainment, and just stunning staterooms, it has it all. Guests even have a chance to ride on Disney Cruise Line’s first attraction at sea.
Mechanical Issues
Disney cruisers that are currently on the Disney Wish have ran into some mechanical issues. Disney Cruise Line did not share what those issues were, but it made the cruise ship have to stay overnight in Nassau versus heading off towards Castaway Cay.
They still were able to enjoy pieces of their Pirate Night, however, because they were still in Nassau they did not have fireworks. This morning the ship set sail around 10:00 am.
Letter to Guests
Today, Disney Cruise Line shared information with current Wish Guests. The letter stated:
“We make every effort to ensure that our shipboard operations runs smoothly and efficiently at all times. Due to an unexpected mechanical issue, it was necessary to extend our time in port overnight. Our engineering team worked to resolve the issue, and we are rescheduled to depart from Nassau this morning at 10 a.m.
Weather conditions are not favorable at this time, and as a result the itinerary has been modified, and the ship will not call on Disney Castaway Cay today.
Pre-reserved Port Adventures at Disney Castaway Cay will automatically be removed from Guests’ cruise plans. Any pre-reserved services at Palo, Remy, It’s A Small World Nursery and Senses Spa will remain as originally scheduled.”
This sailing of the Disney Wish will not call on Disney’s Castaway Cay as scheduled however each stateroom will receive $100 of onboard credit and 20% discount on a future cruise. Fireworks at sea have also been reschedule to tonight.
We are pleased to share that we have rescheduled our fireworks show for today, weather permitting. We will provide additional details with you soon.
As a thank you for your understanding each stateroom will receive $100 onboard credit as well as a 20% discount on a future three-, four-, or seven-night Disney Cruise vacation. The 20% future cruise discount is non-transferrable and is valid for only those Guests who cruised on the Disney Wish April 28, 2023sail date. The cruise must commence by 5/1/25 and excludes blackout dates and maiden voyages.”
