Soft Opening
Magic Kingdom is set to officially open the newest attraction Tron Lightcycle Run on April 4, 2023. Last week, Disney announced that they will begin soft openings today. Get full dates for these soft openings HERE.
TRON will not offer a traditional standby queue but will offer a Virtual Queue. Guests can also be purchased as an Individual Lightning Lane. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will also offer a virtual queue. Check out how you can join both virtual queues on the same day HERE.
Today, we also saw the new price for the Individual Lightning Lane for TRON. Be sure to check this out HERE. For this soft opening, Walt Disney World is limiting TRON’s hours of operation. This greatly affects the ability of guests to join the Virtual Queue for this attraction.
Virtual Queue
Naturally, many Guests with Magic Kingdom reservations for today (March 20, 2023) were up attempting to grab a Boarding Group for TRON as the clock struck 7:00 am. The Virtual Queue was filled within seconds at 7:00 am.
Many guests that were unsuccessful at 7:00 am were hopeful for a second opportunity to join the Virtual Queue at 1:00 pm. Almost as a repeat, the Virtual Queue filled within seconds again.
This means that guests hoping to Park Hop to Magic Kingdom at 2:00 pm are unable to join the Virtual Queue for TRON once they enter Magic Kingdom. There is a great demand for the Virtual Queue for this attraction.
The Virtual Queue filled up within seconds at both 7:00 am and 1:00 pm for the first day of TRON’s soft opening.

You don't have to be in the park for the 7 am enrollment, but you do have to be physically in the park, with your tickets scanned for it to work for the 1 pm enrollment.

What do you mean, "not a lot of people will have a chance of riding it."? If it runs at full capacity from opening to closing, a lot of people will have a chance of riding it. Virtual Queues don't restrict ride occupancy.

So I’m hearing on the news that you have to be at magic kingdom in order to even get a chance for the que my question is can you do it from anywhere like home or I. The car or do you have to phybe on property at magic kingdom. I know the opening time varies each day
