Guests visiting Tomorrowland at Walt Disney’s World’s Magic Kingdom have many dining options. Located in Tomorrowland right across from the Tomorrowland Speedway, Cosmic Ray’s is a quick-service eatery that offers American staples like burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, and more.
This location not only offers dining but entertainment as well. The entertaining Sonny Eclipse greets guests as we sing songs, offers a few “Dad Jokes”, and serenades the crowd. Although many Walt Disney guests may know of Sonny Eclipse, many may not know the man behind the voice.
The Voice of Sonny Eclipse
Sonny Eclipse first entertained guests in 1995 with his 27-minute show. The man behind the animatronic is Kal David. His wife, Lauri Bono, shared this message for family, friends, and fans today on her Facebook Page:
“This morning my beloved husband, Kal David, with clarity and peacefulness in his heart, passed from this world. He wanted you all to know that he loved you and thanked you all for loving him. His music will live on as a testament to his incredible talent.
He was a sweet, humble, wonderful man and the love of my life for 45 years…I will find my way into the future because that is what he asked of me…Please forgive me if I can’t return all the calls and messages I am receiving..I’ll do my best over time. I’m sending love and comfort to all of you.“
Kal David was a singer/songwriter/ and guitarist. He passed at the age of 79. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. We are thankful to have his talent continue in the hearts of Walt Disney World guests as they dine at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
