Fantasmic Reimagined
The Fantasmic show has delighted Guests since 1992 (with its closure in 2016). This show has remained closed since the reopening of the parks.
In November 2021, we shared that Fantasmic will be returning in 2022. Disney shared that Fantasmic will reopen with a few changes. The new Fantasmic show will feature “new animation, water effects, and everything that we love about Fantasmic.” Be sure to check out the details for these new show scenes HERE.
Guests visiting Disneyland have enjoyed Fantasmic! since May 28th. East Coast Disney fans have wondered when we will once again enjoy this nighttime entertainment. Believe it or not, we may be close to the reopening of Fantasmic!
Look for an Announcement Soon
Last month, we shared that Fantasmic! took a BIG step toward reopening. We also shared a rumored reopening date for Fantasmic! Now we may have an official announcement very soon for the reopening of Fantasmic!
Next month, Disney fans look forward to the largest Disney fan event in the world, the D23 Expo. It includes Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, Television, Streaming, Theme Parks, Products, Online, Music, and Live Entertainment, just to name a few.
This year’s D23 convention is held at the Anaheim Convention Center which is located directly across the street from Disneyland. It will take place September 9-11, 2022.
On September 11th Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman, will lead a presentation for “A Boundless Future.” During this presentation, we hope to hear updates coming to the Disney Parks and in particular a possible return date for Fantasmic!

Also, big announcement that Shang was in the parks training at Epcot in preparation for the new scene. Thats another big move towards the opening.
