Summer Crowds

We are now in the phase of reopening where Guests have been waiting for various experiences to reopen and health and safety protocols to be reduced. This means those who have been waiting on character hugs and no masks are preparing to travel to Disney – likely this summer.

When you combine that with the opening of Epcot’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, you are almost asking for heavy crowds. There will definitely be people in the parks this summer!

Disney manages how many Guests flow into each park before 2:00 pm by utilizing a park pass system.

I feel like I do not get too deep into how the system works or how to make a reservation because they have been around for almost 2 years. However, I do feel it is necessary to stress the importance of making park passes as soon as you have tickets and plans.

There is nothing quite worse than waiting until the last minute only to see that there are no park passes available for your dates, or that the park you wanted to visit in the morning is not available. Make those initial reservations even if you need to do some modifying and/or canceling later!

They are already beginning to book up for this summer.

May 27 (aka Cosmic Rewind opening date): all ticket types are sold out for all parks

May 31: all types of annual passes are sold out for all parks

Most weekdays in June: theme park and resort hotel tickets are sold out for various parks

July 4 at Magic Kingdom: all ticket types are sold out

Following the news that 4th of July fireworks are returning for the first time since 2019, it is not surprising July 4 at Magic Kingdom is unavailable. If you want to see the special display, they will also show on July 3. See our story on those dates and times HERE.
