Do you hurry to Magic Kingdom rope drop? Or, are you just looking for an inexpensive breakfast? Check out our take on a protein-filled option.
Mornings at Magic Kingdom
Having a good touring strategy is important, especially at Magic Kingdom. Getting there at “rope drop” is important to minimize waiting in line. To “rope drop”, get there early to be the first (or as close to first as you can) guest in line for a popular attraction.
After catching a few rides, I’m (Susan) ready to catch a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many quick service breakfast locations inside Magic Kingdom. On my most recent trip, I found a breakfast sandwich that kept me full the rest of the morning.
Location
Once you’ve arrived inside Magic Kingdom, head toward the back of the castle and look for The Friar’s Nook beside the Fairytale Princess Hall. Here, breakfast is served until 11:00am.
It’s a walk-up quick service spot that is located totally outside. However, there are a limited number of covered tables and chairs.
Ordering
Mobile ordering food at Disney is my (Susan) favorite way to get food. However, many guests prefer ordering from a Cast Member. Either way you’re in luck. There are separate windows for ordering, picking up mobile orders, and picking up non-mobile orders.
Breakfast Item
I prefer to include a balance of protein and carbs at breakfast, especially when walking all over Disney. At Friar’s Nook, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese sandwich served on a multigrain croissant. This dish comes with a generous side of tater tots.
I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this sandwich! All of the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. If you visit Magic Kingdom soon, I hope you’ll give this a try! It was so large I couldn’t finish the entire dish. Also, the tater tots were crispy and delicious.
Other Breakfast Items
If you don’t want a croissant sandwich, give the sausage and gravy topped tater tots or the cinnamon-sugar doughnuts a try. In addition to the croissant, I ordered a flavored Joffrey’s cold brew coffee. Having the option to add a flavor was a nice touch, but the drink was terrible. Save yourself the money and splurge for a Starbucks drink instead.
What do you think of this breakfast sandwich? Have you eaten at Friar’s Nook before? If so, did you like it? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below and on Facebook.
