Disney is hosting various special preview events for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Select registrations are open, and there are a lot of dates to choose from!
Special previews
Disney announced Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will officially open to Guests over Memorial Day weekend. You can check out the official announcement HERE.
Almost immediately after, Disney began sharing special preview announcements for the attraction. In case you are not familiar, instead of soft openings for rides Disney now holds various preview events for different groups of people.
Cast Member, Annual Passholder, DVC Member, and D23 Gold Member previews will take place in the weeks leading up to the event. Right now, the only hard date we have is for the D23 event, which you can read about HERE.
Cast Preview
Understandably, Cast Members deserve to have the first look at any attraction! They bring so much magic to Guests every single day, and this is a small token of appreciation.
This will give them the opportunity to experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and pass that excitement on to Guests in the parks. Win-win! We learned late last week that previews open today, April 11. Unfortunately, no dates were provided at that time.
Given that D23 Members can register for their event on April 12, it is likely we will see previews for AP and DVC Members this week as well.
Dates for Cast Preview
Now that registration is opening today, we have all the dates for Cast previews! The best part is there are so many dates to choose from! Check them out below.

- April 29
- April 30
- May 1
- May 2
These special previews take place between 1:00 and 3:30 pm on the above dates. The May dates include Cast Member family and friends while the April dates are for Cast Members only.
Looking at the dates above, my (Monica) guess is that after the Cast previews take place, Disney will host previews for Annual Passholders and DVC Members. The D23 event takes place on May 15, and then Disney will probably take those last few weeks for final touches and media previews before officially opening on May 27.
Expect an early May timeframe for various previews.
