It appears there is some type of urgent situation happening in Epcot. Two Epcot rides suddenly evacuate and close to Guests. Here is what we know so far.

Evacuations at Disney World

After so many months of planning and preparing for a Disney World trip, no one wants to see that a ride is down during their visit. But, this is exactly what happens sometimes. Whether it be a mechanical issue or some other type of incident that requires a closure, it can surely be disappointing.

We have seen several closures just this past week, despite it being one of the busiest weeks of the year in the parks. Both Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot both closed to Guests.

Unfortunately, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster is a longer closure. We are told it is due to positive cases among Cast Members. Read HERE for the whole story.

Epcot Incident

It appears Disney is starting the new year with an incident at Epcot, although we are not exactly sure what. According to some comments in our Kenny the Pirate Crew Facebook group, The Seas with Nemo & Friends was evacuated in a rather panicky manner by Cast Members.

The original post says it was hastily evacuated and the staff was in a panic. A commenter responds with the ride stopped, the lights came on, and as soon as they got off the ride, Cast Members told them to immediately leave the building. They were old the ride was fine and not the issue, but they needed to get out of the building.

Not only that, but Turtle Talk with Crush is also closed according to the wait times on My Disney Experience. Check out the screenshot above. Since the two are right next to each other, it could be a precaution.

At this time, we also do not see any active calls for service by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. It could be a fire alarm, or something more serious. We will be sure to update if necessary.

My family just went from the 2/11 - 2/17, and I have to say - the Genie+ and Lightning Lanes worked super easily and smoothly for us. The last time we went was late 2016, and I enjoyed this experience even more than then, so, I kind of think it’s mileage varying for various people.

Things have changed and not for the better. The disney genie we were forced to use a couple of weeks ago st WDW was a terrible experience and wasted a lot of time! No to mention the App was not working intermittently the day we were trying to get our tickets. Keep it simple Disney! I don’t need a genie, just a simple reservation a ticket purchase process.

I definitely agree. Since Eisner left Disney had gone downhill. I lived working at WDW when Eisner was there, but the magic and the appreciation for Castmembers contributions to the park experience feel drastically when Iger took over and is even worse now that Chapek is on board. Disney needs a CEO who can honor the Disney traditions and magic, and still be able to keep it afloat. I wish Eisner would return and straighten out the mess the other 2 have made!

I totally agree with Sharon ! Chapek needs to go and fast. He is slowly destroying Disneyworld. Get rid of him now !! Or Disneyworld will cease to exist as we know it. So so sad he is in charge
