Disney’s Candlelight Processional is a time-honored tradition of the retelling of the Nativity Story. Originally beginning at Disneyland in the 1950s, the processional has expanded to include Epcot. You can read more about its rich history HERE.

Last year, the Candlelight Processional did not take place due to the phased reopening of Disney World theme parks. We have been on pins and needles waiting to hear more about what will take place this year.

Disney officially announced its return recently, and today they are sharing more details. First, it appears that the choirs chosen from around the country will not be part of the performances this year. Voices of Liberty and other Cast Member performers will pair up with the orchestra and narrator to tell the story.

Each night, a celebrity narrator hosts the processional. I (Monica) enjoyed watching Neil Patrick Harris a few years ago, but I would also love to see Gary Sinise and John Stamos narrate.

While we do not have a full list of narrators by date, Disney has given us a sneak peek of who will be joining the lineup.

This year’s celebrity narrators will include Chita Rivera, Jodi Benson, Alton Fitzgerald White, Lisa Ling, Steven Curtis Chapman, Blair Underwood and Pat Sajak with more names being added over the next few weeks.

We eagerly await a more concrete schedule!

Dining Packages

This show is free to enjoy. However, a dining package guarantees seating for the show. Depending on the night and who is narrating, a show may fill up hours in advance. You can read my review of the dining package and overall experience HERE.

Candlelight Processional Dining Packages are also returning along with the performance. You can book these beginning October 26.
