Today is not starting well for some big attractions at Magic Kingdom today. Here is what’s closed.

Downtime

Breaking News: Popular Magic Kingdom Attraction Evacuated!

It is not uncommon for an attraction to experience a lot of downtime throughout the course of the day. Sometimes it’s a technical issue that needs resolved or the weather is forcing rides to close. We recently saw bad weather close almost all the outdoor attractions at all four theme parks two days in a row.

Additionally, many big name attractions were also closed making it difficult for Guests to use their touring plans. You can read about that HERE.

PeopleMover also had a rough few days recently when it was forced to evacuate Guests three days in a row. And just yesterday, Splash Mountain was down for most of the morning.

Attractions Involved

At the time of writing, several headliners are currently unavailable for Guests at Magic Kingdom. Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, Big Thunder Mountain, and Haunted Mansion were all marked unavailable on My Disney Experience.

Now, Space Mountain and Astro Orbiter are back up. Guests in Tomorrowland will now have access to all rides in that area. We are still waiting for Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion to reopen.

Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion are two of my favorite rides in the park, and I would be very bummed if I was at Magic Kingdom today. Hopefully they are back up and running soon!

Magic Kingdom Touring Plans

With Magic Kingdom experiencing some issues today, it can put a serious damper on your touring plans. Be sure to check wait times on Character Locator so you know when a ride reopens and head straight there to beat the crowd.

You can also grab a snack or experience another ride while you wait for the unavailable one to reopen.

Are you at Magic Kingdom today? Have you gotten to ride any rides yet? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook.

I think it is upsetting seeing these types of announcements, it seems, every other day! Most recently rides are often reported down. You almost never used to see this. What is going on?

Perhaps this is Disney’s announcement for the 50th. Exciting stuff, rides actually work. And as a VIP don’t forget to buy a $100 Fastpass for the evacuation experience!

Wow we were there June 18th and 7DMT was down a little at opening and Splash went down for a little bit but everything else was up the rest of the day and wait times were 25 min or less on almost everything all day. Those waits are crazy! Capacity must have increased since then!
