Walt Disney World is truly the most magical place on earth. Unfortunately, Guests visiting Walt Disney World are having a less than magical time arriving to the Walt Disney World Parks. Find out which transportation line is currently affected.

Limited Transportation

Although there are various transportations options to travel between Resorts and Disney Parks, Guests have discovered that the operating hours are a bit different than during previous stays. You can check out the operating monorail schedule HERE.

Currently, the monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Resort continues to be closed for refurbishment. Unfortunately, Guests staying at the Polynesian will continue to use bus and water transportation to travel to the Magic Kingdom. Additionally, they can walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center and use the monorail there.

As the Disney Parks reopened, the Walt Disney World monorail transported Guests to the Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, the monorail transportation did not extend to EPCOT.

At the beginning of 2021, Guests were excited to enjoy Park Hopping once again. Many assumed that the monorail would again be whisking Guests to EPCOT, but the monorail remained unavailable. Check out this guide to find out more information for Park Hopping transportation.

Technical Difficulties

Today, Guests wishing to use the monorail system are encountering a less than magical experience. Technical difficulties this morning caused the shut-down of the entire monorail line.

Those Guests onboard the monorail were evacuated at the Grand Floridian Resort. This affected both the Express line and also the Resort Line.

At this time, we are unsure as to what the technical difficulty may be. Guests were encouraged to use other available Disney transportation until further notice. Some Guests stated that the Express Line heading to and from the Magic Kingdom has resumed operation.

Guests were evacuated off the monorail at the Grand Floridian due to “technical difficulties”.

We are hoping that the technical difficulty has been fully addressed and that the Resort Line may resume again soon.
