With the phased reopening of Walt Disney World, many shows, parades, and nighttime entertainment were affected. Recently, some shows were removed from Park maps, but interestingly one nighttime show received an update. Find out which show and if this may mean a return to nighttime entertainment.

Updated Maps

In October we shared that many shows would be cancelled indefinitely. This was soon after news of massive Disney layoffs were announced.

This past week, we noticed that something was missing on the newly printed Animal Kingdom Park maps. The buildings for the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical are featured on the map. However, the names for these beloved shows are no longer included.

Many have wondered if this means that these Guest-favorite shows may not be returning in the near future. What is interesting is that on another Walt Disney World Park map, a nighttime entertainment option received a digital face lift.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios also received an updated digital Park map. We were so excited to see that something was not missing from this Park map, but rather something was added.

The Fantasmic show has delighted Guests since 1992 (with a closure in 2016). This show, like all other nighttime entertainment, has remained closed since the delayed reopening. However, this classic nighttime show received a recent digital update on the Disney’s Hollywood Studios MDE Park map. Check out this new image of our beloved Sorcerer Mickey Mouse.

Could Fantasmic be Returning?

The previous photo was a bit dated and a new image was definitely needed. It is interesting that this new image was included even while the show is closed.

Many have speculated that Fantasmic may be one of the first nighttime shows to return. This is in large part because of the size and seating of the Fanatasmic amphitheater.

Many have speculated that fantasmic may be the first nighttime show to return.

The newly updated image to the digital Park map may be an indication that this show may be delighting Guests in the near future. We are hoping that more of the magic of Disney will be returning in 2021, and nighttime entertainment has definitely been missing.

What do you think of this new image for Fantasmic being included in the digital map? Do you think that this may be the first nighttime show to return? When do you think shows will be returning across Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
