D23 is the Official Disney Fan Club that offers different memberships that come with different perks and benefits. Today I’m going to share this year’s exclusive gift when you sign up or renew your D23 membership.
What is D23?

I first became a member of D23 back in 2017 and have continued to renew my membership since then.

What Is Included in the Gold Member Gift?
I have to say that my favorite part of the membership is the welcome kit that you receive. Every year it is a different kit. Here is a picture from 2019’s kit celebrating Disney’s history across a 90 year span!
As much as I loved 2019’s kit, I have to say that I LOVE 2020’s kit even more? Introducing D23 Fantastic World’s Adventure Kit!
This one-of-a-kind box collection includes a limited-edition D23 Fantastic Worlds map, an exclusive travel-inspired pin set, a commemorative Disneyland patch, a post card set and an adventure bandanna.
This kit is exclusively for D23 Gold and Gold Family members who are joining and or renewing their membership in 2020.
D23 Fantastic Worlds Map
This awesome map depicts more than 250 places, vehicles, and characters representing more than 150 films, television shows, and theme park locations created by Disney and Pixar.
The map also includes 23 hidden Mickeys as well as a hidden Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
The map was created by Disney artist Bryan Mon, and measures at 24×36 inches. I personally can not wait to place it in a frame and hang it up in my Disney inspired home that you can read about here!
Travel-Inspired Pin Set
If you are a pin set collector, I sometimes think that this is the best part of the membership and the welcome kit. Last year’s pin set was amazing!!
The pin set includes six pins celebrating six milestone anniversaries created by Disney artist Alex Riegert-Waters.
The pins are inspired and celebrates Fantasia, Lady and the Tramp, Swiss Family Robinson, Marvel’s Valkyrie, Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Toy Story.
Fantastic Worlds Postcard Set
The postcard set celebrates some of Disney’s favorite make-believe and real-live places featured in films and Disney’s theme parks.
They were designed by Disney artist Sofia Ouhri and feature Baia from The Three Caballeros; Treasure Island; Planet X, the home world of Marvel’s Groot; Paris from The Aristocats; Space Mountain; Cloud City from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back; and Avatar’s Pandora.
65 Years of Disneyland Patch
July 17, 2020 will mark Disneyland’s 65th opening Anniversary. Disneyland has welcomed millions of guests from around the world.
Inspired by the vintage guide maps from the park’s earliest years, this woven patch was designed by the official voice of Mickey Mouse, Bret Iwan.
Great to display on a backpack or on a jean jacket!
D23 Adventure Bandannas
Last but not least… is my favorite part of the welcome kit. Not one… not two…or three…but FOUR “Adventure is out HERE” woodland-ready bandanas that feature Mickey Mouse headed out on an adventure!
The bandana was also designed by Bret Iwan who was inspired by Mickey’s 1939 short The Pointer and America’s National Parks.
Ugh… would you believe me if I told you that we were on our own adventure to Yellowstone National Park when my welcome gift arrived? Wouldn’t it have been amazing to have the family sport the bandannas as we watch Old Faithful erupt high into the sky!
In fact, our road trip to Montana and Yellowstone National Park was inspired by Adventure by Disney’s virtual trip that featured Montana. Little did I know when I wrote the article, that our adventures would take us on the same path!

Final Thoughts
I have to admit that I was very pleased with the 2020 welcome kit from D23. As I mentioned before, I can not wait to from the map as well as to display the various postcards and the pin set.
Lastly, I can’t wait to iron my patch on a jean jacket while wearing my bandana around either my neck or my signature look of wearing it on my head as a bandanna headband!
