Will a Disney Resort Hotel Reservation Guarantee Theme Park Access? Disney Answers That Question and More!

Will a Disney Resort Hotel Reservation Guarantee Theme Park Access? Disney Answers That Question and More!

Will housekeeping services still be available? Do you really need to use online check-in? Which resort pools WON’T be open? Will a Disney Resort Hotel reservation guarantee access to the theme parks? I’ve got the answers straight from Disney!

As we know, on June 22 select resorts will be available for Guests – select Deluxe Villa Resorts and the campgrounds at Ft. Wilderness.

We still do not know if and when other resorts will open. The previous information stating all Disney World Resorts would reopen on July 11 was made in error and taken down from the website.

Before traveling to Disney World, Guests should be aware of any advisories or restrictions for traveling to Florida.

Please be aware you will need:

  • A confirmed room reservation for your stay. Be sure to link your reservation to your Disney account to receive important information prior to your arrival—visit “My Plans” to get started
  • A confirmed dining reservation if you’re a day Guest (not staying overnight)
  • Face coverings for each Guest age 2 and up—which must be worn in all public areas, except while swimming or seated for dining
  • To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date is required. A Disney Resort hotel reservation does not guarantee theme park access. That’s a big one!

Also, as a reminder, Extra Magic Hours will not be available as a perk to staying onsite and the FastPass+ service has been temporarily suspended.

Online check-in will NOT be required for resort stays.

Cleaning

Additional cleaning measures will be implemented. Increased cleaning in high-traffic areas (throughout the resort and in your room), extra linens that are in single-use packaging, double-cased pillows, and light cleanings that will take place every other day are some of the measures being taken.

You can still decline the every-other-day housekeeping services. See full details below. The Disney World website does not state whether or not you will be given the gift card for declining Mousekeeping.

There are also a wide variety of resort services that will not be available:

Escort service from Bell services, club-level service, in-room celebrations, and more will not be available. Wow!

Feature pools may operate with reduced hours. However, leisure pools will be open 24 hours a day. They will also operate at reduced capacity.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will not be available during the initial reopening period. Guests of this Disney Resort hotel may enjoy the leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Villas.

Fitness centers will reopen along with state guidelines but may have reduced hours and capacity. Instructor classes will not be offered.

What do you think of these updates? Do you think it’s unfair to not guarantee theme park admission with a Resort reservation? Let us know on Facebook.
