Rumor: Pete’s Silly Sideshow to introduce new VIP costumes

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

When Pete’s Silly Sideshow was first seen on concept art people assumed it would be some type of small scale show in one of the new tents.  Later it was told that it would only be a meet and greet location.  Speculation ensued that we might find classic characters that now appear on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse like Pete, Clarabelle, Clara Cluck or the Big Bad Wolf.  Lately, the rumors are pointing to all new VIP costumes for Goofy, Donald, Daisy & Minnie to fit the Circus theme.  I mentioned this rumor as it began back in April (http://kennythepirate.com/2012/04/19/character-rumor-round-up/)  It would take some popular characters out of the heat (which is becoming more common with Animal Kingdom) and place them in a new air conditioned area that potentially could offer FASTPASS 2 for guests.  So, how might these characters appear in the new tent? How about:The Great Goofini – stand back as he is being shot from a cannon or flying a plane

Tight wire walking Minnie – she handles the lack of marriage proposal well, should be able to walk on another wire!

Snake Charming Donald – he’s quite the charmer!.

Gypsy Daisy – she already is a bit of a vamp.  She’ll tell your fortune!  Perhaps she could get Disney to bring Esmerelda back too???

When MIGHT this begin opening to the public?  Everyone has heard that the tents will be open by “the holidays,” but I’ve heard that the tents might open as early as mid-october, which would mean I’ll have to drive back down again, huh?  I think I should just move to Orlando!

P.S.: It would make perfect sense to put all of the "core 8" in the Town Square Theater, since it already serves as Mickey & Minnie's permanent MK home. There are no other characters I can think of that would be appropriate to take over the current princess room that would actually fit the Main Street theming.

Another thing to keep in mind was that when Mickey's Toontown Fair was in its final years, Minnie starting greeting guests with Mickey in the Judge's Tent, because a lot of guests wanted WDW to have at least one location where they could get pictures with the two together (they usually seperate the two at most meet-and-greets). This, of course, is still being continued at the Town Square Theater--and if they were to seperate them, there'd be a lot of complaints.

And by putting all 8 VIP's together in the Town Square Theater, it would give MK a one-stop shop for meeting those main characters, which the other 3 parks already have (Epcot has Character Spot, DAK has Camp Minnie-Mickey, DHS has the Sorcerers Hat).

I'm still not giving in to these rumors, so please stop bringing them up. I still say that Minnie will remain with Mickey in the Town Square Theater, with Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale joining them there once the princesses finish departing for their new Fantasyland homes.

The Silly Sideshow is still going to be the unusual secondary toons (Pete, Clarabelle, Horace, Oswald, the 3 Little Pigs, etc.) in one room and various villains in another room.

Several Entertainment CM's and CM's who talked to Imagineers have said these things to me and I believe them.

Regardless, the Silly Sideshow (which I doubt will be opening before early 2013) is going to be way too big a facility to have only 4 characters. There's always a chance that the VIPs and the secondary characters will end up appearing in the Silly Sideshow together.

Really hoping it's open by mid-October, whatever it is, as we'll be heading that way then.

That would end up being a disappointment if Pete doesn't meet in his own sideshow. Not worth a new Meet & Greet for same characters in different outfits.
