Closing Dates for Two Magic Kingdom Locations

Magic Kingdom Expansion

There are many changes currently taking place throughout Walt Disney World. At the Magic Kingdom, a large expansion is taking place along the former Rivers of America and beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for Villains Land.

During this expansion, the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station is also blocked by construction walls. Thankfully, you can still enjoy a ride along the Walt Disney World Railroad, but with a "shuttle mode" change with our favorite alien, Stitch.

Now, even more changes will affect Frontierland due to this expansion.

Two Magic Kingdom Closures

Earlier Disney shared that in the next few months, both Westward Ho and Big Al's would permanently close. Westward Ho offers breakfast options, light lunch and dinner options, Joffrey's coffee, and frozen beverages.

Big Al's offers souvenirs and the ever-famous coonskin hats. With both of these locations set to close, Disney promises to relocate ice cream, churro, and popcorn carts to other areas in Frontierland.

These closures are caused by the current construction walls, which will soon move forward into Frontierland's riverwalk area.

Closing Dates

Although Disney has not announced an official closing date, operating hours are now adjusted for both locations. Big Al's no longer offers operating hours starting May 11, 2026.

Westward Ho shows no operating hours beginning on June 22, 2026. These closures may also signal a change for parade viewing and pedestrian traffic starting soon. Check out these changes HERE.
