Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Contemporary Resort offers many great dining options. Guests can enjoy a meal with Mickey Mouse and his pals with a character dining experience at Chef Mickey's.
Guests can enjoy great dining surrounded by Disney nostalgia at Steakhouse 71. There is also quick service dining at Contempo Cafe and The Sand Bar.
California Grill is located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort with amazing panoramic views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon. There are floor-to-ceiling windows and two viewing platforms.
Disney Resort Hopping Loophole
Dining reservations at Walt Disney World monorail resorts are even more popular now that Disney tightened restrictions for "Resort Hopping".
Since June 28, 2026, Guests boarding Disney Resort buses and the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs must show either a Resort room reservation, a dining reservation, or a recreation activity reservation.
However, today, September 6, 2026, Disney is now canceling dining reservations for Steakhouse 71.
Steakhouse 71 Unexpected Closure
Steakhouse 71 is now listed as "Closed" on the My Disney Experience app with no reason provided. We have heard reports that Guests with dining reservations are now being notified that their reservations are canceled.
Steakhouse 71 unexpectedly closed today, September 6, 2026.
At this time, it appears that Steakhouse 71 will reopen tomorrow, September 7, 2026. We will continue to follow if Steakhouse 71 remains closed tomorrow.
