Disney World Flooding
Yesterday, August 23, 2026, Walt Disney World was hit with a huge thunderstorm.
Guests reported being stuck on the Disney Skyliner for 20 minutes midair, while other Guests reported seeing lightning strikes around multiple Magic Kingdom locations.
As many Disney guests are well aware, the Walt Disney World Theme Parks often flood.
Frontier Trading Post Closed
In Frontierland, the Frontier Trading Post offers a variety of exclusive Disney pins and is a popular stop for Guests. Yesterday, during the heavy thunderstorm, this shopping location flooded.
Frontier Trading Post suffered flooding on August 23, 2026.
Thanks to @ropedropandbeyond for sharing this look inside as water continued to flow in even after the rain had stopped. It looks like much of the merchandise was removed while crews worked to clean this space.
Guests report that Frontier Trading Post is closed today, although the Walt Disney World website still shows operating hours. It will be interesting to see if this store reopens for Pin Drop Tuesday tomorrow.
