Cast Members Continue To Be The Magic When Guests Were Surprised by Smoke In This Disney Deluxe Resort Lobby
Guests visiting Disney's Polynesian Resort this afternoon were surprised to find smoke in the lobby of the Great Ceremonial House. Find out what we know.
Disney's Polynesian Resort
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is a deluxe Magic Kingdom Area resort in Walt Disney World. The last few years have featured a great deal of change at the Polynesian, one of Walt Disney World's flagship resorts.

The resort has also seen a new traffic pattern and a new bus stop last month.
Smoke Present In The Great Ceremonial Hall
Today around 3pm, Guests began to notice that the Great Ceremonial Hall was getting smokey. It appeared that the smoke was coming from one of the restaurants on the second floor.
The smoke did not smell like something was burning, it smelled like the delicious food that the Polynesian Resort is known for.
The smoke alarms did not go off and all Guests were safe throughout the event.
Cast Members did not confirm where the smoke was coming from, but reported that they anticipated the issue to be resolved shortly and no dining reservations would be interrupted. You can see the smokey haze in the video below:
Cast Members Are The Magic
Throughout the situation, Cast Members remained calm as they worked to resolve whatever was causing the smoke.
Doors were opened and fans were brought in to help remove the smoke. Captn. Cook's had their interior door shut so Guests could only enter from the outside.
BouTiki was only accessible from their side entrance, and the main entrance to the shop from the lobby was closed.
Disney trains Cast Members in the "5 Keys," which help to provide the highest quality of hospitality to all guests. These include Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Safety is listed first and is vitally important to provide safety for all guests and fellow Cast Members.
Cast Members were also found giving away samples of cookies, dole whips, and even bites of chicken tenders!
Disney Cast Members did a great job throughout the situation and are truly the magic of Disney!
