Disney is giving Oswald his Own New Mini-Series
Oswald is a true Disney original! And soon you can get to know him in a brand new mini-series.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Many Disney fans don't realize that before Mickey Mouse, there was a rabbit called Oswald. It was a series of Oswald the Lucky cartoon shorts that became Walt Disney's first big break.
Unfortunately, the little rabbit that Walt Disney drew contractually belonged to Universal, the company Walt was working with when he created Oswald. When Universal parted ways with Walt, he realized he'd also lost the rights to Oswald.
That is why a character created by Walt Disney ultimately belonged to another company for 80 years. However, in 2006, Disney CEO Bob Iger finally brought Oswald Back to the Walt Disney Company. Of course, the Oswald character has since entered the public domain.
